The word kangaroo stems from an Aboriginal language (Guugu Yimidhirr). The Aboriginal word gangurru described the Grey Kangaroo. The term "Kangaroo Court" means an unofficial court held by a group of people in order to try someone regarded, especially without good evidence, as guilty of a crime or misdemenour.
